Natural dyes were first used in Mohenjodaro to colour clothes. This art, long forgotten, has now been revived by Khaadi.

Ever since its inception in Dec 98', Khaadi has been growing in reputation and is now a household name in Pakistan. Khaadi's naturally dyed hand-woven cloth has also been appreciated by Shabani Azmi (Indian Actress), Wasim Akram (cricketer), Babra Sharif (Actress), Hasina Moin (Drama writer), Sadia Imam (Model/Actress) Inzimam-ul-Haq (cricketer) to name a few celebrities. The reason behind Khaadi's success according to Shamoon Sultan (creator and owner of Khaadi) is quite clear:

"Once you start wearing handloom products, you will find it hard to shift back to machine made. Such is the refinement of quality and texture found in these hand-woven kurtas."
